Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Offers Buyouts to All Federal Employees

On 1/28/25, the Trump administration announced that it is offering buyouts to any federal employees who opt to leave their jobs by next week. A memo from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the government’s human resources agency, also said it would subject all federal employees to “enhanced standards of suitability and conduct” and warned of possible future downsizing. The email was sent to millions of federal employees and said those who leave their posts voluntarily will receive about eight  (8) months of salary, but they have to choose to do so by 2/6/2025.
